Sesame Street

Summary: Puppets and people interact to teach children simple lessons.

Warnings: The series began introducing LGBTQ+ content subtly in about 2018, so I do NOT recommend any episodes in seasons after season 48. Apparently there’s also an older episode where a character smokes a pipe.

Opinion: At one point, this was the single most popular (and best) preschool show on television. My how times have changed. As I say in the warnings, I do NOT recommend any episodes after season 48. Having said that, the earlier seasons are still around and worth introducing your children to. After all, the characters are very iconic and the lessons about sharing and counting and other preschool skills are often good and wholesome.

Sequels/Remakes: There are multiple movies with these characters (most of which are pretty cheesy).

Educational Value: 3 out of 3 stars.

Cultural value: 4 out of 5 stars. Almost every adult has watched this show as a child, although it has declined in relevance lately.

Age rating: This show is appropriate for ages 4 and older.
