Mickey’s Trailer

Summary: This is one of the early episodes that contains Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck. It is full of visual gags as the small camper these friends travel in speeds over bumps, around sharp corners, and careens out of control.

Warnings: Nothing.

Opinion: If you’d like a single episode to introduce your children to the classic Disney characters of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, this short would probably do it. There are almost no words, with the animation doing the entertaining by creating improbable situations designed to make the viewer laugh.

Sequels/Remakes: There is no continuity between any of the early Disney shorts except recurring characters, so this isn’t part of a specific series, but there are multiple shorts from this era (the 1930s and 40s) with these characters. In fact, this is considered the 100th film with Mickey Mouse.

Educational Value: 1 out of 3 stars. Nothing educational in this short film.

Cultural value: 2 out of 5 stars. Although there are many Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1930s and 1940s, this is one of the best short films that contains all three of Disney’s most iconic characters. Therefore, as it is culturally valuable to have some familiarity with each of these characters, I rate this short as somewhat important.

Age rating: This show is appropriate for ages 4 and older. It has a timeless humor that can appeal to all ages.
